June 25, 2012 – Wireless RERC Director of Communications Studies, James White, PhD, has been awarded a contract with the National Council on Disability to conduct a study on effective communication for people with disabilities before, during and after emergencies. The study will examine the accessibility of current emergency communication and will document best practices and possible barriers to effective emergency-related communication. In addition, the study will examine current disability laws that pertain to emergency communication and will survey people with disabilities to determine their experiences and perceptions relating to emergency communications.
